Coffee – Kenya Peaberry
£20.95
Specially selected for The Grand Café
Packed Weight: 125gm
Country of Origin: Kenya
Packaging: Vacuum Sealed bag
Notes:
A light coffee with fine acidity and a slight fruity
flavour.
Peaberry, also known as caracoli, is so called
because unlike other beans where the fruit ("cherry")
of the coffee plant contains two seeds ("beans") that
develop with flattened facing sides, only one of the
two seeds is fertilized, and the single seed develops
with nothing to flatten it. This produces an oval
(or pea-shaped) bean, hence the name 'peaberry'.
Typically, only around 5% of all coffee beans harvested
are of this form.
